The Queso Connection

Well, here's a combination I didn't know I needed: Cheeseburger Queso! In Cookeville's historic WestSide district, Savor brings a creative approach to American comfort food. The locally owned restaurant has culinary roots stretching back to 2013, when Seven Senses Food & Cheer began serving the community. Today, the menu wanders from shrimp and grits and maple-brined pork chops to tuna poke, smashburgers and, most importantly for our purposes, an appetizer called Cheeseburger Queso. There's also spinach dip, jerk chicken dip and pulled pork nachos, giving us several reasons to explore the appetizer menu. I haven't tasted the Cheeseburger Queso yet, but the name alone has earned it a spot on my Cookeville wish list. Sometimes following the cheese leads somewhere wonderfully unexpected.
