The Queso Connection

A family recommendation brings us to Pueblo Viejo in Algood, just outside Cookeville, where this neighborhood Mexican restaurant has been serving the community since 2009. Known for its made-from-scratch cooking, handmade corn tortillas and generous portions, Pueblo Viejo offers plenty of ways to get your cheese fix. Beyond the classic cheese dip, there's Chicken Delight, featuring grilled chicken smothered in cheese dip over rice, and the Pueblo Viejo Special, with two burritos topped with rice and cheese sauce. This stop comes highly recommended by Michaela, Ryan’s daughter, and we're already planning to meet her here on our next visit. Because the only thing better than sharing queso is sharing it with family. And we always need another excuse to gather around a table.
