Mesero
Three quesos, three personalities: classic cheddar Tejano, spinach-artichoke-poblano Queso Mesero, and sizzling chorizo fundido. A triple-stamp destination.
The Queso Connection
Born in Dallas and now bringing its Tex-Mex sensibilities to Nashville's 12South neighborhood, Mesero is worth more than one stamp on the Queso Trail. Queso Tejano sticks to tradition with warm cheddar, roasted red and green bell peppers, and the option to load it up with brisket, chorizo or beef. But the restaurant's namesake Queso Mesero is the one that keeps me coming back. Chihuahua cheese, spinach, artichokes and poblano peppers create a glorious crossover between Mexican queso and spinach-artichoke dip. It's been one of my personal favorites for years. Order both and call it comparative research. The Queso Trail fully supports this kind of scholarship.

Queso Tejano
Mesero keeps its Queso Tejano firmly in the yellow-cheese camp: melted cheddar with roasted red and green bell peppers, served warm with chips. It's the Tex-Mex classic of the lineup, with optional brisket, chorizo or beef for anyone looking to load up their dip.
