El Weirdo
Get weird with thick, gently spicy queso, fresh-fried chips and loaded nachos surrounded by murals, oddities and an alien luchador.
The Queso Connection
A reader recommendation sends the Queso Trail into the wonderfully strange world of El Weirdo in historic downtown Panama City. What began as a taco truck has become a colorful brewery and taco destination filled with murals, curious creatures and artwork by local artists. The menu keeps its queso description simple, promising a bowl with freshly fried corn tortilla chips. One customer described the dip as thick with a little kick, although the cheese blend and seasonings remain unconfirmed. For a second route into the queso, Nacho Mama's Nachos pile freshly fried tortillas with black bean-and-corn salsa, pickled onions, queso, cotija, chipotle cream, cilantro and lime. There's also Street Korn Dip for the queso-adjacent curious. Come for the cheese, stay for the art, and report back with tasting notes. This community-nominated stop is still awaiting our own visit.
